Notes from The Past
This page is about my Saltwater Aquarium. After having a freshwater aquarium and having an extra tank setup and filter around I decided to try it. Since I noticed many of the fish are a lot cheaper now I said what the heck. I setup the aquarium and added the water and mixed in the salt. I used saltwater biozome which helps speed up the cycling process. The two damsel fish are very shy and hide when I come into the room. I had a lot of success with my saltwater tank. In fact I had better luck with it than my freshwater tank until I had a problem with my air pump and freshwater siphoned into my saltwater tank. The fish lived through the incident but they soon all got ick and eventually all died because I could not treat a reef tank. After going through all of that I knew I wanted to get my tank back going. I changed my 37 gallon tank to freshwater and moved my saltwater stuff to a 75 Gallon Oak tank. Shortly after I had it going good It was time to more. My parents bought a new house so I had to start planning for the move. My 75 gallon tank was separated into 2 different tanks (1 reef, and 1 fish only), Because I still had a small amount of ick in the tank I decided to treat all the fish for ick and eliminate it completely. The two tanks were over my grandmothers for about a month and a half. They were eventually moved into my new house back into their 75 gallon tank and there is no longer any ick. I bought a powerful 36 watt uv sterilizer and I also have a 20 gallon quarantine tank to continue to keep ick out of my tank. The UV sterilizer is only put on when I feel it is necessary. I just got a Moorish Idol and the UV on right now since the Moorish Idol will not be quarantined because he demands nothing but the highest quality water. He has been pecking at dried marine algae and chopped up mussel.
First I got a girlfriend who said my freshwater fish and turtles were ugly so I took an empty tank I had lying around and started all of this
