My Saltwater Aquarium
Former Inhabitants
R.I.P.
This page is dedicated to the pets that died in my saltwater aquarium or just no longer reside in my tank
REST IN PEACE!
My First Hermit Crab died of Old Age
Two Pictures of the Blood Fire Shrimp which died for an unknown reason
Mr. Tang, My first tang which passed away after the tank was upgraded to a 37 gallon reason too much stress
Three pictures of my Red Starfish Died a few days after I received him, reason unknown
Pictures of my first bubble tip anemone picture taken soon after it was introduced to the tank
It passed away because it got sucked into the inlet of the power head water pump
The Fish Below Perished During a huge outbreak of ICK (January '04) which made me redo my tank into a 75 gallon
Damsels
These two Damsels are the first fish put into my saltwater tank. The tops two pictures are of the black and white damsel. The bottom picture is a picture of the blue damsel with a yellow tail. They were very shy at first but now are very friendly and seldom hide. Both were purchased at Petco. I bought a 3-spot domino damsel a while later.
All the damsels above died during the Ick explosion that killed all my fish
Green Chromis
In the background you can see two Green Chromis. For some reason they are not very hardy for me. I have bought like 6 of them and now they are all dead
Clownfish
In the above picture is a very fuzzy picture of my Ocellaris Clownfish. I had a Percular Clownfish too but he got sick and died. After he died the Ocellaris got very sick and I almost swooped him out of the tank but he quickly swam away so I decided to give him a chance. He grew a huge bubble on his eye but then eventually got better and is doing great now.
I purchased 2 Percula Clownfish from Petco on 1/2/04
Shortly after the purchase of the 2 Perculas mentioned above Ick swept over the tank and they were the first two to die.
Tangs
I had 2 yellow Hawaiian tangs and one blue hippo tang. All three seem very healthy and happy in the tank.
These tangs died during the major ick outbreak in my tank. The 2 yellow tangs were some of the last fish to die. The Blue hippo tang lived the longest but eventually succumbed to the ick.
RIP - These were my favorite fish of the 37 gallon tank
Gobies
I purchased 2 Neon Gobies at Petco in Nashua, NH on 1/24/03
These gobies were the first two fish to die during the major ick outbreak that started shortly after the freshwater leak episode.
Rose Bubble Tip Anemone or Rose Bulb Anemone
Rose Entacmaea quadricolor
These are pictures of my rose anemone which I received on 10/17/03. It came via UPS Next Day Air and arrived alive despite poor packaging. Within 20 min the anemone had a new friend because the tomato clownfish took him as a host. So far the anemone has moved around the tank quite a bit but I do anticipate that it will settle down soon. It has eaten target anemone food, pieces of squid and a piece of a silverside. It is a good sized specimen at about 5"-7" big. This anemone split during the freshwater leak episode and lived through the ick plage that wiped out my fish but both anemones died before the big move to my new house.
Mexican Turbo Snail
This snail has been with the tank almost since I started the tank. It is very good at cleaning algae and slim.
This Snail died during the move due what might have been a lack of calcium in the water
2 Lettuce Nudibranches
Obtained on Saturday January 17th 2003
Died around move time
3 Peppermint Shrimp
These guys disappeared after I introduced 2 blood fire shrimps and a cleaner shrimp. They did live through the move.
